I spent 2 years training as a plumber in Plymouth and did my NVQ at college. Before that I was in the Army, where I picked up a degree in Roman history. Handy for dating some of the boilers I find.
I've been self-employed since 2010, working in homes round Newport and up to about 20 miles out. A bit of everything: boiler repairs, bathroom repairs, leaks, new boilers and servicing.
It's just me. No office and no call centre. You fill in the form, I ring you back, and I'm the one who turns up.
When I'm not working I'm usually outdoors, out walking with our two dogs, Teddy and Tetley.
