Radiators that won't warm up
Where a radiator is cold tells you a fair bit about why:
- Cold at the top, warm at the bottom. Usually trapped air. Bleeding it normally fixes it.
- Cold at the bottom, warm at the top. Often sludge that's settled in the radiator.
- One radiator cold and the rest fine. Could be a stuck valve, or the system needs balancing.
- Radiators upstairs cold, downstairs fine. Could be the pump, or low pressure in the system.

New and replacement radiators

Can you fit a new radiator or swap an old one?
Yes. Put the room and roughly what size you have in mind on the form.
Why is my radiator cold at the top?
Usually air trapped in it. Bleeding it normally sorts it. If it keeps coming back, air is getting in somewhere and that's worth looking at.
Why is my radiator cold at the bottom?
Often a build-up of sludge in the system. Worth getting looked at, because it tends to spread to the other radiators.
